Christmas morning

I'm so behind. My dog is sick, the oven is broken, and we're still adjusting to Jason being back on 3rd shift. So here goes:

Santa was here

Kids were excited

The kids requested a trip to the store to spend their own money on gifts for Jason. It was very cute. They each decided to buy him some bait for fishing.

Happy Birthday, Jesus!

What we've been doing

So I hear it's December. Yikes! November just flew by and we were so busy I didn't take many pictures. Or we weren't busy at all and had nothing to take pictures of. Not sure which is correct, but here is a small run down.
Cooking

Cleaning

(Isn't her little broom cute? Jason's aunt and uncle own a broom factory and brought this up for her when they came to visit in October. )

Thanksgiving

(Like how we have on no coats and are sitting in a pile of leaves? Yep, the Christmas parade here is before Thanksgiving. Just like Oktoberfest is in September and The Memorial Tournament is in June. We do things a little weird here in Ohio.)

Christmas lights at the zoo

Running errands

Yep, that pretty much sums it up.

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning was early this year since we had to wake up the kids when Jason got home from work (so he could go to sleep).

The kids were very happy....

Santa left us a thank you note for the cookies.

Xander agreed to pose for a photo and he made us a wonderful gift at school.

Then we ate a breakfast of Gift of the Magi Muffins and scrambled eggs. This year we put candles in the muffins and blew them out for Jesus' birthday. It's a little easier to explain Christmas to the kids that way, they're not quite understanding much more than that right now.

Then I spent the rest of the morning putting together toys. :0)

Christmas Carnival

Today was the annual Christmas Carnival at Xander's school. He was so excited to go. I was excited about the free coffee and Tim Horton's donuts because I didn't get a chance to eat before we left the house.

Cookie decorating had to be first.

Carnival games....

Face painting...

And Jordis' visit with Santa. She told me she wasn't going to pose for a picture, but I thought this would actually be funny when she's older so I had them take it anyway.

I also gave the kids money and BaDee took them to the Secret Santa shop to help them spend it to buy a gift for Jason and myself. I used to get my mom the most horrible things at my elementary school's Secret Santa, so I can't wait to see what she helped them buy.
